U.S. military pay scales are used as a major measure of personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches that employ the pay scales used by the military. Each of these branches has specific requirements that determine their pay grade. These include bonuses and payment considerations for seniors.

The index for employment costs establishes an U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is found through the analysis of the demands for enlisted personnel in permanent and permanent personnel as well as temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty soldiers. After considering these factors it is then adjusted to create a figure that considers the strength requirements for each group in order to guarantee a sufficient workforce. This is the method used to define a minimum military pay which is later used in every branch.

The U.S army has its own ranking process in place. The ranks are established with the help of First Lieutenant and the upper levels and include officers like Lieutenants, Colonels, sergeants and majors. Within the army, there are three levels placed from top to bottom through the order of the commander. They are known as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used within the army are the First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and further on. It ranks individuals in various fields of service in the various branches that comprise the Army. For instance, those with lower ranks within The Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those who are in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost ladder is the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be considered a General and will be accountable for the entire military and the whole staff. In this position you’ll also receive the most pay per day. Higher levels will also receive an increased number of of paid annual vacation.

Pay rises at this point are dependent on the military’s employment cost index. This is an attempt to accommodate for the increase of costs of living. If a location has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is anticipated to be more expensive than when the cost index is low. This causes an increase in the compensation of military members who have high educational qualifications and received similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay grades. Those who are promoted in positions below their pay grade get no raise.

Officers who are engaged and commissioned receive a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid when they reach this level is determined by the actual rating of their commission, which is usually above the rank of their actual star. Higher levels of command like Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers are eligible for being promoted to Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. For example, those who’ve already been elevated to a General are eligible for a promotion to a Vice Captain or Major.

Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties will increase in every couple of years. It is necessary to be in the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grade specializations may apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant when they’ve had the number of years of service and have reached the required promotion level.
