Higher levels will be able to enjoy an increased number of paid days of holidays per year.
Pay increases at this rate are based on the military cost index for employment. This is an attempt to adjust for the inflation of the cost of living. If an area has high cost index, the costs of living are expected to be more expensive than when the cost index is less. This causes an increase in the pay for military members with a higher education level and were promoted and received pay rises as those who are in lower pay grades. Personnel who are promoted to positions below their pay grade get no raise.
Officers who are commissioned and enlisted rank receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. At higher levels of command like Colonel both commissioned and enlisted officers will be eligible for an upgrade to Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotion. So, officers who have previously been promoted to a General will be capable of being promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.
In addition, the salaries for Specialties go up every two years. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to qualify for the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these specialty pay grades can apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant, after they’ve completed the necessary number to years working and have reached the required promotion level.
