An index of cost of employment establishes the U.S. military pay scale called“allowable” Rate. The index is determined using the need for enlisted personnel permanently, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty military personnel. After considering these parameters and adjusting the rate so that it takes into account the strength requirements of each of these groups to guarantee an adequate workforce. This process is used to determine a basic military salary that is used by each branch.

The U.S army has its ranking procedure in force. The ranks are determined with the help of First Lieutenant and above and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels, and majors. In the army, there are three levels in order from highest to lowest within the command chain. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale employed by the army is the First Major First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and the list goes on. This is a way of grading people across various fields of service in the different branches of the army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within that section of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. However, higher-ranking individuals are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this step is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will rank as a General and be responsible for the entire military as well as the entire staff. As a Colonel you’ll also earn the highest amount of pay per day. At higher levels, will also receive an increased number of days of paid leave per month.

Pay increments at this level are dependent on the military’s cost index for employment. This is a way to take into account the rise of living costs. When an area has an index that is high, the cost of living will be expected to be greater than when the index falls. This leads to an increase in the salaries of military personnel who have high educational qualifications and were promoted and received pay increases similar to those at lower pay levels. For those who have promotions in positions below their pay grade receive no increment.

Officers that are both engaged and commissioned receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The pay they receive with this title is determined by the commission they receive and is typically above the grade of their current star. At higher levels of leadership, such as Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers are entitled to the rank of Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. This means that those who’ve before been promoted as General are eligible to receive a promotion to a Vice Captain or Major.

Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties rise in every couple of years. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class in order to earn the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these pay grade specializations could apply to be a surgical technician or Medical Assistant, after they’ve completed the required number to years working and have completed the required level of promotion.
