When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be promoted to General and will be in charge of all of the military and the whole staff. At this rank you’ll also earn the highest amount of pay per day. In higher ranks, you will also receive the most number of paid days of holidays per year.
Pay increase at this level are calculated based on the army index of cost of employment. This is a method to account for the rising of the cost of living. If an area has an index of high value, the cost of living is likely to be significantly higher than when the of living index is very low. This is a reason for an increase the salaries of military personnel with a higher education level and had similar promotions and increments that are similar to those in lower pay levels. For those who have promotions in lower pay grades receive no increment.
Officers who have both commissioning and enlisted receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive when they reach this level is based on their actual commission score and is typically above the rank of their actual star. Higher ranks of command, such as Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers will be entitled to an upgrade to Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotion. For example, those who’ve had a previous promotion to General will be eligible for promotions to a Vice Captain or a Major.
Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties increases every two years. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to qualify for the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay levels may apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the necessary number or years in service, and have completed the required level of promotion.
