The next rung on the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you will rank as a General and will be accountable for the entire military and whole staff. In this position you also get the highest amount of pay per day. In higher ranks, you will receive a number of days of paid holiday per month.
Pay increase at this level are dependent on the employment cost index. This is a way to account for the rising in living expenses. When a region has high cost index, the cost of living will be expected to be much higher than when the cost of living index is very low. This can result in an increase in the salaries of military personnel who have a high education and received similar promotions and raises like those in lower pay grades. Personnel who are promoted to the lower ranks of their pay get no raise.
Officers who have both an enlisted and commissioned rank get an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The pay they receive for this position is based on the commission they receive that is generally higher than the level of their actual star. When they reach higher levels of the command that include Colonels, both commissioned, and enlisted officers are entitled to being promoted to Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all commissioned officers will be eligible for general promotion. This means that those who’ve earlier been promoted to General will be qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.
Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties increase approximately every two years. You must be in the top twenty percent of your class to get promoted to a Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty pay grades may apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant after they’ve had the number that have served in the past and completed the required level of promotion.
