An index of the cost of employment determines the U.S. military pay scale called“the Allowable Rate. The index is calculated using the demand for enlisted troops as well as permanent personnel and temporary military retirees per 100 active duty personnel. After analyzing these elements then the rate is adjusted in order to produce a figure that will be based on the needs of each of these groups to ensure an adequate workforce. This method is employed to fix a basic rate of military pay that is later applied in every branch.

The U.S army has its own ranking system in place. Its ranks are formulated by the First Lieutenant or above and include officers like Lieutenants, Colonels, sergeants, and majors. In the army, there are three levels ordered from the top to the bottom through the order of the commander. They are known as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The pay scale that is used within the army are the First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and further on. This ranks the people working in different fields of service in the various branches in the military. For example, lower-ranked individuals in the Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those in the Navy will be considered Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost rank is the ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, will be promoted to General and will be accountable for the entire military and entire staff. In this position you’ll also be able to receive the most salary per day. As you progress, you can expect to receive a number of days of paid leave per month.

Pay increments at this level are dependent on the military’s cost of living index. This is a method to reflect the increasing in living expenses. If an area has one with a high cost index, the cost of living will be expected to be significantly higher than when the cost index falls. This results in an increase in the compensation of military members who are educated and have enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay increases similar to those at lower pay levels. Those who are promoted in lower pay grades receive no additional pay.

Officers who hold both a in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn as a Warrant Officer is based on their actual commission ratings that is generally higher than the grade of their real star. At higher levels of command such as Colonel both commissioned and enlisted officers are entitled to being promoted to Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned will qualify for general promotion. For example, those who’ve previously been promoted to General are qualified for promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties go up twice a year. It is necessary to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grade specializations can apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, after they’ve reached the minimum number or years in service, and achieved the level of promotion required.
