When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be promoted to General and will have responsibility for the entire military and whole staff. At this rank you’ll also receive the most money per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you are entitled to the most number of days of paid leave per month.
Pay increase at this level are determined by the military cost index for employment. This is a way to keep track of the rate of inflation in living expenses. If a location has a high index, the cost of living is anticipated to be greater than when the cost index is less. This will result in an increase of the amount of pay paid to military personnel who have a high education and who have experienced similar promotions and increases that are comparable to those in lower paygrades. People who are promoted to areas below their paygrade get no raise.
Officers with an enlisted and commissioned rank get an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The people who have any of these specialties pay grades can apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant after they’ve completed the required number that have served in the past and have completed the required level of promotion.
