Likewise, those in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next step up the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. In the Colonel rank, you are a general and will oversee the entire military and entire staff. As a Colonel you also get the most salary per day. As you progress, you are entitled to a number of days of paid annual vacation.
Pay increments at this level are in accordance with the military’s cost of labor index. This is an attempt to keep track of the rate of inflation of costs of living. When a region has high cost index, the cost of living will be expected to be much more than when the index is less. This causes an increase in the amount of pay paid to military personnel who are highly educated . They have received similar promotions and raises like those in lower pay grades. For those who have promotions in positions below their pay grade receive no additional pay.
Officers that are both engaged and commissioned receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid with this title is determined by their actual commission score which is usually higher than the rank of their actual star. At higher levels of command like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers can receive a promotion to a Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. Thus, those who have previously been promoted to General are eligible for promotions to Vice Captain or Major.
Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties are increased in every couple of years. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your class to get promoted to the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grade specializations can apply to become surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, after they’ve reached the minimum number or years in service, and reached the minimum level for promotion.
