At Colonel rank, you will be considered a General and will be in charge of all of the military and the whole staff. At this rank, you will also receive the most money per day. In higher ranks, you will also receive an increased number of days of paid leave per month.
Pay increases at this point are dependent on the military’s employment cost index. This is a method to adjust for the inflation of costs of living. When an area is characterized by one with a high cost index, the cost of living is expected to be significantly higher than when the index falls. This results in an increase in the salaries of military personnel who are educated and have had similar promotions and increases that are comparable to those in lower pay levels. Promotions in jobs that are not in their pay grade are not given a raise.
Officers with in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn for this position is determined by the commission they receive which is usually greater than the grade of their current star. In higher ranks of command that include Colonels, both commissioned and enlisted officers can receive being promoted to Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. This means that those who’ve prior to that been upgraded to a General are eligible for a promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.
Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties increase every two years. It is necessary to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist.
