At higher levels, you will be able to enjoy the most number of paid days of annual vacation.
Pay increases at this level are dependent on the military’s employment cost index. This is a way to reflect the increasing in living expenses. When an area has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be significantly higher than when the cost index is lower. This will result in an increase of the salary of military personnel who are educated and have who have experienced similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower paygrades. Promotions in posts below their pay grade receive no increase.
Officers who are employed and enlisted are given an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid as a Warrant Officer is determined by the commission they receive which is usually higher than the rank of their actual star. Higher levels of command including Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can receive the rank of Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned will qualify for general promotion.
