Military Pay Charts Drill – The U.S. Military PayScale is the salary scale that is used for all personnel in the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales serve as the primary measurement tool to determine personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force as well as Marine Corps are the branches that utilize the pay scales used by the military. Each of these branches have specific requirements that determine their pay scale. This includes bonuses as well as special payment considerations for seniors.

For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within the Marine Corps will be considered Officers placed in Reserve or Officers Regular. In contrast, upper-ranked individuals are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Also, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those in the Navy are regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step in the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this scale is the ” Colonel”. In the Colonel rank, you will be a general and will be accountable for your entire army and whole staff. At this rank you’ll also receive the most money per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you will receive the most number of paid days of time off per calendar month.

Pay increase at this level are calculated based on the army cost of living index. This is an attempt to accommodate for the increase of the cost of living. If an area has an index that is high, the cost of living is likely to be much more than when the index falls. This results in an increase in the compensation of military members who have high educational qualifications and had similar promotions and increments that are similar to those in lower paygrades. For those who have promotions in jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no additional pay.

Officers who have both engaged and commissioned receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid at this rank is determined by their actual commission ratings that is typically higher than the level of their actual star. Higher ranks of command like Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers can receive promotions to Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotion. For example, those who’ve before been promoted as a General will be eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties increases at least every 2 years. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialty paygrades can apply to become surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, once they have reached the required number hours of work experience and attained the necessary promotion level.
