An index of cost of employment establishes an U.S. military pay scale called“Allowed” Rate. The index is found through examining the demands for enlisted personnel or permanent employees, as well as temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty personnel. After considering these factors then the rate is adjusted to give a percentage that relies on the strength requirements of each group to guarantee an adequate workforce. This process is used to define a minimum military pay which is later used in every branch.

It is the U.S army has its rank system in place. The ranks are decided through the first lieutenant, and beyond and include officers like Colonels, lieutenants, sergeants, and majors. Within the army, there are three levels in order from highest to lowest at the bottom of the rank chain. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale employed by the army is First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, and so on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different specialties within the different branches of the army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within The Marine Corps will be considered Officers placed in Reserve or Officers Regular. On the other hand, those with higher ranks are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Furthermore, those working in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those in the Navy will be considered Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next rung on the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rung is known as the ” Colonel”. In the Colonel rank, you become a General and will be accountable for the entire military as well as the whole staff. In this position you’ll also earn the most salary per day. In higher ranks, you can expect to receive an increased number of of paid annual vacation.

Pay increases at this level are in accordance with the military’s cost of labor index. This allows you to reflect the increasing of living costs. When an area has high cost index, the costs of living are expected to be much higher than when the cost Index is not high. This will result in an increase of the pay for military members who are highly educated . They have enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay increments that are similar to those in lower paygrades. The ones who are promoted in lower pay grades are not given a raise.

Officers who have both commissioned and enlisted rank receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive as a Warrant Officer is determined by the commission they receive which is usually greater than the grade of their real star. In higher ranks of command including Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers will be eligible for the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotions. Thus, those who have had a previous promotion to General will be eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

The pay increases for Specialties will increase approximately every two years. You must be in the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these specialties pay grades could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the required number of years of service and have completed the required level of promotion.
