Military Pay Charts For 1990 – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by all personnel of the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as the main measurement tool to determine personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches using the military pay scale. Each of these branches have specific rules that define its pay grade. This includes bonuses and a special pay consideration for seniority.

An employment cost index establishes how much the U.S. military pay scale called The Allowable Rate. The index is calculated through the analysis of the demands for enlisted personnel, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty soldiers. After considering these factors and adjusting the rate to give a rate that assumes the strength requirements of each group for a stable workforce. This process is used to set a basic military pay that is then applied to each branch.

It is the U.S army has its own ranking structure in place. The ranks are established at the level of the First Lieutenant and up and comprise officers such as Sergeants, lieutenants, Colonels, and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ordered from the top to the bottom within the command chain. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used in the army is First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, and then on. This ranks people in different areas of service within the different branches in the military. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  in The Marine Corps will be considered Officers placed in Reserve or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits. Likewise, those in the Navy will be regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next stage in the pay scale for military personnel is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost step is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be a general and will oversee all of the military and the entire staff. As a Colonel, you will also receive the most amounts of money per day. Higher levels will be able to enjoy a number of of paid leave per month.

Pay increase at this level are calculated based on the army cost of labor index. This is a way to adjust for the inflation of costs of living. If an area has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is expected to be much more than when the cost index is lower. This leads to an increase in the wages of military personnel who are highly educated . They have received similar promotions and raises similar to those of lower pay grades. People who are promoted to jobs that are not in their pay grade have no pay increase.

Officers who have both employed and enlisted are given an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is based on their commission rating which is usually greater than that of their real star. In higher ranks of command, such as Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers are eligible for being promoted to Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all commissioned officers will be eligible for general promotion. This means that those who’ve earlier been promoted to General are eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties increase at least every 2 years. You have to be among the top 20 percent of your class to get promoted to an Advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialties pay grades can apply to become Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant after they’ve reached the required number that have served in the past and attained the necessary promotion level.
