U.S. military pay scales are used as a major measurement tool for determining personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are the branches which utilize the scale of pay used by military personnel. Each branch has particular rules and regulations that determine its pay grade. The index is calculated through examining the demand for enlisted personnel, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty personnel. After analyzing these elements and adjusting the rate to provide a rate that takes into account the strength requirements of each group in order to guarantee a sufficient workforce. This process is used to set a basic military pay that is later applied in every branch.
It is the U.S army has its own ranking procedure in force. The ranks are decided by the First Lieutenant or above and comprise officers such as Colonels, lieutenants, sergeants and majors. In the army, there are three levels placed from top to bottom in the chain of command. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.
The other pay scale used by the army is First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, and so on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different categories of service within the different branches in the military. For example, individuals with lower rank within military units like the Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. On the other hand, those with higher ranks are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Also, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those who are in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next step up the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. In the Colonel rank, you will be promoted to General and be responsible for all military personnel and the whole staff. As a Colonel you’ll also earn the most amounts of money per day. At higher levels, you will be able to enjoy an increased number of paid days of leave per month.
Pay increments at this level are determined by the military index of cost of employment. This allows you to take into account the rise of the cost of living. If a location has a high index, the cost of living is predicted to be higher than when the index is less. This causes an increase in the compensation of military members who have high educational qualifications and received similar promotions and raises like those in lower pay levels. For those who have promotions in posts below their pay grade get no raise.
Officers that are both commissioned and enlisted rank receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn as a Warrant Officer is determined by their actual commission rating which is usually higher than the grade of their current star. At higher levels of command like Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers are eligible for the rank of Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotions. Thus, those who have earlier been promoted to General will be capable of being promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.
The pay increases for Specialties rise every two years. You must be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to an Advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these pay grades can apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the required number that have served in the past and reached the minimum level for promotion.
