The next step in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost ladder is the ” Colonel”. In the Colonel rank, you will rank as a General and will be accountable for your entire army and whole staff. In this position you’ll also receive the highest pay per day. At higher levels, will be able to enjoy an increased number of of paid holiday per month.

Pay increases at this point are based on the military employment cost index. This is an attempt to adjust for the inflation of living expenses. When an area is characterized by an index of high value, the cost of living is likely to be more expensive than when the cost index is lower. This can result in an increase in the salary of military personnel who are educated and have who have experienced similar promotions and increases that are comparable to those in lower pay grades. Those who are promoted in positions below their pay grade receive no increment.

Officers who hold both a an enlisted and commissioned rank get promotions to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is determined by their actual commission ratings, which is usually above the grade of their real star. In higher ranks of command that include Colonels, both commissioned and enlisted officers can receive an upgrade to Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned can be promoted to general. For example, those who’ve earlier been promoted to General will be qualified to be promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.

Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties are increased  every two years. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to an specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialties pay grades could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the required number that have served in the past and achieved the level of promotion required.
