An employment cost index establishes this U.S. military pay scale known as“allowable” Rate. The index is found by studying the requirements for enlisted employees permanently, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty military personnel. After considering these factors it is then adjusted in order to produce a figure that takes into account the strength requirements of each of these groups for a stable workforce. This process is used to define a minimum military pay that is then applied to every branch.

The U.S army has its ranking structure in place. The ranks are established with the help of First Lieutenant and above and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels, and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ordered from the top to the bottom through the order of the commander. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used in the army is called the First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and so on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different areas of work in the different wings in the military. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  in The Marine Corps will be considered Officers Reserved or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Also, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those in the Navy are regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level up in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost rung is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be a general and will have responsibility for all of the military and the whole staff. At this rank, you will also receive the most pay per day. In higher ranks, you are entitled to a number of of paid holiday per month.

Pay increases at this level are determined by the military cost of employment. This is a method to accommodate for the increase of the cost of living. When a region has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is expected to be more expensive than when the cost index falls. This is a reason for an increase the salary of military personnel who have a high education and enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay increases that are comparable to those in lower paygrades. Those who are promoted in the lower ranks of their pay get no raise.

Officers who are both commissioning and enlisted receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The pay they receive at this rank is determined by the actual rating of their commission which is usually greater than that of their real star. Higher ranks of command that include Colonels, both enlisted and commissioned officers will be entitled to promotions to Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotion. So, officers who have already been elevated to General will be qualified for promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties go up approximately every two years. It is necessary to be in the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to an specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay levels can apply to become a surgical technician or Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the required number or years in service, and attained the necessary promotion level.
