Military Pay Grade – The U.S. Military PayScale is the standard salary scale for all members of the Armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as the main instrument for measuring personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force as well as Marine Corps are the branches which utilize the scale of pay used by military personnel. Each branch has specific provisions that determine its pay grade. This includes bonuses and special pay considerations for seniority.

For example, those who are lower-ranked within the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve, or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level up in the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be considered a General and will oversee the entire military as well as the entire staff. In this position you’ll also earn the highest pay per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you will be able to enjoy a number of of paid annual vacation.

Pay rises at this point are dependent on the military’s cost of employment. This is a way to account for the rising of the cost of living. When an area has an index that is high, then the cost of living will be expected to be higher than when the index is less. This leads to an increase in the salary of military personnel who are educated and have enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay increments that are similar to those in lower paygrades. Personnel who are promoted to jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no increment.

Officers with in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid when they reach this level is determined by the actual rating of their commission that is generally higher than the level of their actual star. At higher levels of command that include Colonels, both commissioned and enlisted officers will be eligible for the rank of Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers can be promoted to general. So, officers who have before been promoted as a General are capable of being promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties increase approximately every two years. You have to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to an specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these pay grade specializations are eligible to apply for the position of surgical technician, or Medical Assistant when they have reached the required number hours of work experience and achieved the level of promotion required.
