Military Pay Hourly Rate – The U.S. Military PayScale is the standard salary scale for all members of the Armed forces. U.S. military pay scales serve as the primary gauge for determining the amount of compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are the branches which use the pay scales used by the military. Each of these branches has specific requirements that determine their pay grade. These include bonuses and pay considerations for seniority.

The next step in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost step is known as the ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will be promoted to General and will be in charge of the entire military as well as the entire staff. At this level you also get the highest pay per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you can expect to receive an increased number of paid days of time off per calendar month.

Pay increases at this level are determined by the military employment cost index. This is an attempt to adjust for the inflation in living expenses. If an area has one with a high cost index, the costs of living are expected to be more expensive than when the cost Index is not high. This will result in an increase of the compensation of military members with a higher education level and had similar promotions and raises like those in lower pay levels. Promotions in jobs that are not in their pay grade get no raise.

Officers who are both commissioning and enlisted receive a promotion to a Warrant Officer.
