U.S. military pay scales are used as a major assessment tool to calculate personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches that use the scale of pay used by military personnel. Each branch has specific provisions that determine its pay grade. This includes bonuses and special pay considerations for seniority.
The index for employment costs establishes the U.S. military pay scale known as“allowable” Rate. The index is found using the amount of enlisted members in permanent and permanent personnel as well as temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty soldiers. While those with higher rank are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Furthermore, those working in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruiters and those who are in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next step up the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will be a general and will be accountable for the entire military and the whole staff. At this rank it is also possible to earn the most pay per day. Higher levels will receive a number of paid days of holidays per year.
Pay increase at this level are determined by the military index of cost of employment. This is a method to adjust for the inflation of the cost of living. When a region has a high index, the cost of living is likely to be more expensive than when the index is low. This will result in an increase of the compensation of military members with a higher education level and were promoted and received pay rises as those who are in lower paygrades. The ones who are promoted in lower pay grades receive no increment.
Officers who have both an enlisted and commissioned rank get an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive at this rank is based on their actual commission ratings that is generally higher than the level of their actual star. In higher ranks of command including Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers will be eligible for an upgrade to Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers can be promoted to general. So, officers who have prior to that been upgraded to General are capable of being promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.
Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties increases in every couple of years. You must be in the top 20 percent of your class to gain promotion to an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grade specializations may apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant when they’ve completed the required number that have served in the past and attained the necessary promotion level.
