If you are promoted to higher levels, you will be able to enjoy the most number of paid days of vacation per month.
Pay increases at this point are in accordance with the military’s cost of living index. This is a method to reflect the increasing of living costs. When a region has high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be higher than when the index falls. This causes an increase in the compensation of military members who have a high education and had similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower pay grades. Promotions in jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no increment.
Officers who are in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid at this rank is determined by the actual rating of their commission that is typically higher than the grade of their real star. In higher ranks of command, such as Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers are entitled to advancement to the rank of Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotion. For example, those who’ve had a previous promotion to General will be eligible for a promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.
Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties are increased approximately every two years. It is necessary to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to an specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist.
