In higher ranks, you will also receive a number of days of paid holidays per year.
Pay increases at this rate are determined by the military cost of labor index. This is a method to take into account the rise in living expenses. If a location has an index that is high, the cost of living will be expected to be higher than when the index is less. This results in an increase in the salary of military personnel who are educated and have who have experienced similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower paygrades.
