Also, the increments in pay for Specialties will increase twice a year. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your class to get promoted to an Advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these specialties pay grades could apply to be a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant after they have reached the required number in years served and reached the minimum level for promotion.
