An employment cost index establishes the U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is found through examining the amount of enlisted members, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active duty personnel. After considering these factors The rate is then adjusted to give a rate that is based on the requirements for strength for each group to ensure that there is a sufficient number of workers. This process is used to define a minimum military pay that is used by every branch.

It is the U.S army has its rank established system. Its ranks are established at the level of the First Lieutenant and above and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels, and majors. In the army, three levels are ranked from highest to lowest through the order of the commander. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale employed within the army are the First Major First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and the list goes on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different specialties within the various wings in the military. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within their respective divisions of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. In contrast, upper-ranked individuals will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, while those who are in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step in the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rung is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you will be a general and will be in charge of all of the military and the entire staff. At this level you’ll also earn the most pay per day. At higher levels, can expect to receive a number of days of paid holiday per month.

Pay increases at this level are calculated based on the army cost of employment. This is an attempt to keep track of the rate of inflation of living expenses. If an area has an index that is high, the cost of living is expected to be much more than when the cost index is low. This results in an increase in the salaries of military personnel who are educated and have received similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay grades. The ones who are promoted in posts below their pay grade receive no increase.

Officers who are employed and enlisted are given an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn when they reach this level is based on the actual rating of their commission, which is usually above the actual star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers can receive advancement to the rank of Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotions. For example, those who’ve earlier been promoted to a General will be eligible for promotions to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties are increased twice a year. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grade specializations could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, once they’ve had the number of years of service and have reached the required promotion level.
