Higher levels will also receive an increased number of paid days of leave per month.
Pay increases at this level are in accordance with the military’s cost index for employment. This is an attempt to adjust for the inflation of the cost of living. When a region has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be more expensive than when the index is less. This will result in an increase of the amount of pay paid to military personnel with a higher education level and who have experienced similar promotions and raises similar to those of lower paygrades. Officers who hold both a commissioning and enlisted receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The pay increases for Specialties are increased at least every 2 years. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your class in order to earn the Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty paygrades may apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant after they have reached the required number hours of work experience and reached the appropriate promotion level.
