Each of these branches have specific laws that govern its pay grade. This includes bonuses and special payment considerations for seniors.
A cost of employment index is this U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is found using the demand for enlisted personnel, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty soldiers. After taking into account these factors The rate is then adjusted to give a percentage that takes into account the strength requirements for each group for a stable workforce. This technique is used to fix a basic rate of military pay that is used by each branch.
The U.S army has its own ranking method in operation. Its ranks are formulated through the first lieutenant or above and include officers like Sergeants, lieutenants, Colonels and majors. In the army, there are three levels ranked from highest to lowest to the top of the line of command. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be considered a General and will be accountable for all military personnel and the entire staff. As a Colonel you’ll also receive the most amounts of money per day. At higher levels, will receive the most number of days of paid holidays per year.
Pay increments at this level are dependent on the military’s cost of living index. This is a method to take into account the rise of living expenses. When an area is characterized by an index that is high, the cost of living is expected to be significantly higher than when the cost index is low. This can result in an increase in the amount of pay paid to military personnel who have high educational qualifications and experienced similar promotions and pay raises like those in lower pay grades. People who are promoted to posts below their pay grade have no pay increase.
Officers that are both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an advancement to a Warrant Officer. The salary they earn for this position is determined by their actual commission rating that is typically higher than the grade of their real star. At higher levels of command such as Colonel both enlisted and commissioned officers will be eligible for the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. Thus, those who have before been promoted as General are qualified for promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.
Also, the increments in pay for Specialties go up at least every 2 years. You must be among the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these pay grade specializations can apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant, once they’ve reached the required number of years of service and have attained the necessary promotion level.
