The next step up the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will rank as a General and will be accountable for all of the military and the whole staff. In this position, you will also receive the highest pay per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you can expect to receive a number of days of paid vacation per month.
Pay increases at this rate are dependent on the military’s cost of living index. This allows you to account for the rising in living expenses. When a region has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be significantly higher than when the cost index falls. This causes an increase in the pay for military members with a higher education level and were promoted and received pay increments that are similar to those in lower pay levels. Those who are promoted in lower pay grades receive no additional pay.
Officers who are both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is determined by their actual commission ratings which is usually higher than the level of their actual star. When they reach higher levels of the command, such as Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers are eligible for being promoted to Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. Thus, those who have before been promoted as a General are capable of being promoted to Vice Captain or Major.
Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties increases twice a year. It is necessary to be in the top twenty percent of your class to qualify for the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialty paygrades are eligible to apply for the position of Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the necessary number in years served and reached the minimum level for promotion.
