The next stage in the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost step is known as the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you are a general and will have responsibility for your entire army and entire staff. As a Colonel you’ll also earn the most salary per day. As you progress, you will be able to enjoy the most number of of paid leave per month.

Pay increases at this point are based on the military cost of employment. This is an attempt to take into account the rise of living costs. If a location has high cost index, the cost of living is anticipated to be greater than when the cost index is low. The pay increases for Specialties rise at least every 2 years. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your class to get promoted to an advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these specialty paygrades could apply to be a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant after they’ve reached the minimum number or years in service, and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
