At higher levels, you are entitled to the most number of paid days of vacation per month.
Pay increases at this rate are dependent on the military’s cost of labor index. This is an attempt to reflect the increasing in living expenses. This results in an increase in the salary of military personnel who have a high education and who have experienced similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay grades. Officers with commissioned and enlisted rank receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive when they reach this level is based on their commission rating, which is usually above the actual star. At higher levels of leadership such as Colonel both commissioned and enlisted officers can receive a promotion to a Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers can apply for general promotions. For example, those who’ve had a previous promotion to a General will be qualified for promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.
The pay increases for Specialties increase at least every 2 years. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these specialty pay grades could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the required number that have served in the past and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
