In higher ranks, you will receive the most number of days of paid leave per month.
Pay rises at this point are dependent on the military’s cost of living index. This is an attempt to reflect the increasing of living expenses. At higher levels of command that include Colonels, both commissioned, and enlisted officers will be eligible for advancement to the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. Thus, those who have already been elevated to General will be capable of being promoted to a Vice Captain or Major.
In addition, the salaries for Specialties increase twice a year. You need to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to a Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grade specializations may apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant after they’ve reached the minimum number that have served in the past and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
