Military Reserve Pay Dates – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by all members of the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as a primary measurement tool to determine personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force as well as Marine Corps are the branches using the pay scales used by the military. Also, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next level up in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this level is called the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you will be considered a General and will have responsibility for the entire military as well as the entire staff. As a Colonel you also get the most pay per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you can expect to receive a number of days of paid time off per calendar month.
Pay increases at this point are in accordance with the military’s cost of labor index. This is an attempt to keep track of the rate of inflation of costs of living. If a location has a high index, the cost of living will be expected to be much more than when the index falls. This will result in an increase of the amount of pay paid to military personnel who have a high education and had similar promotions and increments that are similar to those in lower pay levels. Personnel who are promoted to lower pay grades have no pay increase.
Officers who hold both a commissioned and enlisted rank receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is based on their actual commission rating and is typically above the actual star. In higher ranks of command such as Colonel both enlisted and commissioned officers can receive advancement to the rank of Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotions. For example, those who’ve earlier been promoted to a General will be capable of being promoted to a Vice Captain or Major.
Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties are increased at least every 2 years. You have to be among the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for the Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty paygrades could apply to be a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the required number of years of service and have reached the required promotion level.
