The index for employment costs establishes how much the U.S. military pay scale known as“Allowed” Rate. The index is determined by analyzing the demand for enlisted personnel in permanent and permanent personnel as well as temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty soldiers. After considering these parameters, the rate is adjusted in order to produce a figure that will be based on the needs of each group in order to guarantee a sufficient workforce. This technique is used to set a basic military pay that is later applied in every branch.

The U.S army has its own ranking system in place. The ranks are established through the first lieutenant and the upper levels and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels, and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ranked from highest to lowest on the hierarchy of commands. They are called the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used within the army is the First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and other ranks. These pay scales rank people in various categories of service within the different wings that comprise the Army. For instance, those with lower ranks in military units like the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, those employed in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, while those in the Navy are regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next rung on the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this scale is the ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you become a General and will have responsibility for the entire military and the entire staff. In this position, you will also receive the most pay per day. Higher levels are entitled to the most number of days of paid annual vacation.

Pay rises at this point are calculated based on the army employment cost index. This is a way to take into account the rise of living expenses. If an area has one with a high cost index, the costs of living are expected to be much higher than when the of living index is very low. This leads to an increase in the pay for military members who are educated and have were promoted and received pay raises similar to those of lower pay grades. Those who are promoted in jobs that are not in their pay grade have no pay increase.

Officers who have both engaged and commissioned receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive at this rank is based on their actual commission rating, which is usually above the rank of their actual star. Higher ranks of command that include Colonels, both commissioned and enlisted officers can be eligible for a promotion to a Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers can apply for general promotions. Therefore, those who have already been elevated to General are eligible for promotions to Vice Captain or a Major.

Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties increase  every two years. It is necessary to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialty paygrades are eligible to apply for the position of surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, after they’ve had the number hours of work experience and have completed the required level of promotion.
