The next level in the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this level is called the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you are a general and have the responsibility for the entire military as well as the entire staff. At this rank, you will also receive the most amounts of money per day. Higher levels will be able to enjoy a number of paid days of leave per month.
Pay increase at this level are in accordance with the military’s cost index for employment. This is an attempt to account for the rising of living costs. When an area has an index that is high, then the cost of living is anticipated to be greater than when the cost index is low. This leads to an increase in the salary of military personnel who are highly educated and were promoted and received pay raises similar to those of lower pay grades. Those who are promoted in positions below their pay grade are not given a raise.
Officers who are an enlisted and commissioned rank get an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is determined by the actual rating of their commission and is typically above that of their real star. The pay increases for Specialties will increase approximately every two years. It is necessary to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to qualify for the Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialty paygrades can apply to become surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, after they have reached the required number of years of service and attained the necessary promotion level.
