The next rung on the pay scale for military personnel is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this ladder is the ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you are a general and will have responsibility for all of the military and the whole staff. At this rank you’ll also receive the most amounts of money per day. Higher levels are entitled to a number of of paid time off per calendar month.
Pay rises at this point are calculated based on the army cost of living index. This is an attempt to accommodate for the increase of living expenses. In areas with an index of high value, the cost of living will be expected to be much more than when the index is lower. This results in an increase in the pay for military members who have high educational qualifications and received similar promotions and raises like those in lower paygrades. People who are promoted to posts below their pay grade are not given a raise.
Officers with engaged and commissioned receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid as a Warrant Officer is based on their actual commission ratings which is usually higher than the level of their actual star. At higher levels of leadership that include Colonels, both commissioned, and enlisted officers will be entitled to an upgrade to Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned can apply for general promotions. For example, those who’ve prior to that been upgraded to General will be qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.
Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties will increase twice a year. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your class to get promoted to an Advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these pay grades could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, after they’ve completed the necessary number to years working and reached the appropriate promotion level.
