This results in an increase in the compensation of military members who have a high education and experienced similar promotions and pay rises as those who are in lower pay grades. Promotions in positions below their pay grade get no raise.
Officers who have both commissioning and enlisted receive a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid when they reach this level is based on the actual rating of their commission and is typically above the rank of their actual star. At higher levels of command including Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers can receive the rank of Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotion. Thus, those who have earlier been promoted to General are eligible for promotions to Vice Captain or a Major.
Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties will increase twice a year. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialty pay grades can apply to become surgeon technician or Medical Assistant when they’ve completed the necessary number in years served and have reached the minimum level for promotion.
