The next rung on the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost ladder is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will rank as a General and will oversee all of the military and the whole staff. At this rank, you will also receive the most salary per day. In higher ranks, you will be able to enjoy an increased number of days of paid leave per month.
Pay increases at this point are calculated based on the army cost of living index. This allows you to reflect the increasing of costs of living. If an area has an index that is high, then the costs of living are expected to be more expensive than when the index is less. This will result in an increase of the wages of military personnel with a higher education level and who have experienced similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower pay levels. People who are promoted to the lower ranks of their pay are not given a raise.
Officers who hold both a commissioned and enlisted rank receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid with this title is based on their commission rating that is typically higher than the grade of their real star. At higher levels of leadership, such as Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers are entitled to an upgrade to Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotion. So, officers who have had a previous promotion to a General will be eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or Major.
Also, the increments in pay for Specialties go up at least every 2 years. You have to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to an advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grades could apply to be a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the required number of years of service and reached the required promotion level.
