The next step up the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this ladder is the ” Colonel”. In the Colonel rank, you will be a general and be responsible for all military personnel and the entire staff. At this level you’ll also be able to receive the most salary per day. At higher levels, you will be able to enjoy a number of paid days of time off per calendar month.
Pay increases at this level are dependent on the employment cost index. This is a method to keep track of the rate of inflation of living expenses. When a region has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be significantly higher than when the cost index is lower. This causes an increase in the salaries of military personnel who are educated and have enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay raises similar to those of lower pay grades. For those who have promotions in jobs that are not in their pay grade have no pay increase.
Officers who are employed and enlisted are given an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer.
