Us Army Salary Grades – The U.S. Military PayScale is the base salary scale for all personnel in the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales serve as the primary measurement tool for determining personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches that use the scale of pay used by military personnel. Each of these branches has specific provisions that determine its pay grade. This includes bonuses and a special pay consideration for seniority.

An index of cost of employment establishes that U.S. military pay scale called“Allowed” Rate. The index is calculated through the analysis of the demands for enlisted personnel as well as permanent personnel and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty personnel. When considering these aspects The rate is then adjusted so that it is based on the requirements for strength of each of these groups for a stable workforce. This method is used in order to create a basic military wage which is then utilized in every branch.

It is the U.S army has a ranking process in place. Its ranks are formulated by the First Lieutenant, and beyond and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants and Colonels, and majors. Within the army, there are three levels placed from top to bottom in the chain of command. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The pay scale that is used within the army is the First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and then on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different specialties within the various branches of the army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within their respective divisions of the Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, individuals in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits. Likewise, those in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will rank as a General and will be in charge of the entire military as well as the entire staff. At this rank you’ll also earn the most pay per day. In higher ranks, you will be able to enjoy the most number of days of paid holidays per year.

Pay increases at this rate are based on the military index of cost of employment. This is a way to adjust for the inflation of living costs. In areas with a high index, the cost of living will be expected to be more expensive than when the cost index is less. This will result in an increase of the compensation of military members who are educated and have had similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower pay levels. People who are promoted to positions below their pay grade receive no increment.

Officers that are both commissioned and enlisted rank receive an advancement to a Warrant Officer. The salary they earn with this title is determined by their commission rating, which is usually above the grade of their real star. In higher ranks of command like Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can be eligible for being promoted to Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned can apply for general promotions. So, officers who have had a previous promotion to General will be eligible for promotions to Vice Captain or Major.

In addition, the salaries for Specialties increases  every two years. You must be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty paygrades can apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant when they’ve completed the necessary number hours of work experience and attained the necessary promotion level.
