An index of the cost of employment determines an U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is determined by studying the demand for enlisted personnel permanently, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty personnel. After analyzing these elements to determine the appropriate rate, it is adjusted so that it assumes the strength requirements of each group to guarantee an adequate workforce. This is the method used to define a minimum military pay that is then applied to each branch.

It is the U.S army has its own ranking method in operation. The ranks are determined at the level of the First Lieutenant and up and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ranked from highest to lowest in the chain of command. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

Another pay scale utilized by the army is the First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and other ranks. This ranks people in different areas of work in the different branches that comprise the Army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  in that section of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. In contrast, upper-ranked individuals are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, those employed in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those who are in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost ladder is the ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you are a general and will oversee your entire army and whole staff. At this level you’ll also receive the highest amount of pay per day. In higher ranks, you will be able to enjoy an increased number of days of paid leave per month.

Pay rises at this point are in accordance with the military’s cost index for employment. This is a way to account for the rising of living expenses. If a location has a high index, the cost of living is predicted to be higher than when the cost Index is not high. This leads to an increase in the salary of military personnel who are highly educated and received similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower paygrades. Those who are promoted in areas below their paygrade receive no additional pay.

Officers who have both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The salary they earn as a Warrant Officer is determined by their actual commission ratings and is typically above the level of their actual star. In higher ranks of command, such as Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers can be eligible for being promoted to Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. That means, those who’ve earlier been promoted to General will be capable of being promoted to Vice Captain or Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties increase twice a year. You must be in the top 20 percent of your class in order to earn the Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these specialties pay grades may apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the required number to years working and reached the minimum level for promotion.
