U.S. military pay scales serve as a principal measurement tool to determine personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches that employ the pay scales used by the military. Each branch has specific provisions that determine its pay scale. This includes bonuses, as well as special payment considerations for seniors.

The index for employment costs establishes that U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is determined using the demand for enlisted personnel permanently, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty military personnel. After taking into account these factors it is then adjusted to give a rate that will be based on the needs of each group for a stable workforce. This method is used in order to set a basic military pay that is later applied in every branch.

It is the U.S army has its rank method in operation. Its ranks are set in the hands of the First Lieutenant or above and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels, and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ordered from the top to the bottom at the bottom of the rank chain. They are known as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used by the army is the First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and so on. This ranks people in different fields of service in the different wings that comprise the Army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within those in the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Reserved or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those in the Navy will be considered Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next stage in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost rung is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you are a general and will have responsibility for the entire military and the entire staff. At this level you’ll also receive the highest amount of pay per day. As you progress, you will also receive the most number of paid days of holidays per year.

Pay rises at this point are calculated based on the army cost of employment. This is an attempt to keep track of the rate of inflation of living costs. When an area has one with a high cost index, the costs of living are expected to be greater than when the cost index falls. This leads to an increase in the amount of pay paid to military personnel who have high educational qualifications and had similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower pay grades. Those who are promoted in jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no additional pay.

Officers with engaged and commissioned receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn in this grade is based on the commission they receive that is typically higher than the actual star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers are eligible for an upgrade to Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotion. This means that those who’ve prior to that been upgraded to a General will be qualified for promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.

The pay increases for Specialties increases in every couple of years. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for an specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these pay grades can apply to become surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the required number that have served in the past and reached the appropriate promotion level.
